Somali attempted to flee Malta using another man's passport

18-year-old Abas Ali Hanishi, from Somalia, was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to having in possession a stolen passport.   The accused, who arrived in Malta by boat in 2013, tried to escape through Malta International Airport using a passport of another somali individual. Allegedly, Mr Hanishi was attempting to fly to Copenhagen, Denmark, where his sister resides, however he was caught while passing through check in. The passport used belongs to Kalif Ahmed Abdirahman.    Inspector Edel Mary Camilleri prosecuted, while Dr Noel Bartolo represented the accused. Magistrate Miriam Hayman presided.
