The buses which drive from Cirkewwa to Mater Dei hospital will no longer pass from St Lukes hospital.
In a statement, Transport Malta said it took the decision given the fact that very few passengers actually used the stop.
TM said this would result in the bus ride to take 15 minutes less than usual.
Frequency between Valletta and St Lukes hospital will be increased.
The statement also explained how the XI route at 6:45am will no longer pass from the centre of Mellieha while the X1 and X2 buses will cater both for Mater Dei and the University, meaning that passengers will no longer need to change buses at University.
TM said that a new location for parked buses at the University will be found and a site has already been identified.
These changes will come into place in the coming weeks.
