Beppe Fenech Adami this afternoon left the London hospital where he underwent an operation on Monday to remove a 15cm malignant tumour from his back.

Dr Fenech Adami will be staying in London for a few days to continue his recovery before returning to Malta, his sister Maria Cassar said.

On Monday Dr Fenech Adami underwent a four-and-a-half-hour major operation and surgeons said they were satisfied with the outcome of the surgery that sought to remove the tumour.

Dr Fenech Adami, the 45-year-old son of President Emeritus and former Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami, was diagnosed with the tumour in July and has since undergone an intensive radiotherapy treatment.
