By the end of the year, Transport Malta is hoping cars will no longer be held up behind buses at the Msida junction area as the larger vehicles will have their own lane.

The ongoing project, meant to reduce traffic congestion on one of the island’s busiest roads, will be completed as soon as possible within the next two months, according to the transport watchdog.

The works extended from the traffic lights junction off the Msida local council offices, around 5th October Square (where the Workers’ Memorial stands) and down to Marina Road towards Pietà. The new bus lane starts in Pietà and continues past the Marina Palace home for the elderly towards the Workers’ Memorial.
